This is Bear Lake, which is the first of four lakes that I hiked to while in Rocky Mountain National Forest. This spot was by the easiest lake to get to because it was only about 25 yards from the entrance. I wish I could say the same about the others, but with a starting elevation of 9475 feet and a just over 3.5 mile round trip hike, well, it makes me exhausted just thinking about it. This photograph was taken the in the last week of May, and even with all the snow on the ground, the temperature was perfect. While I was hiking, jeans and a T-shirt were comfortable. However, when I stopped and took a half an hour break at the top it did get a bit chilly, but then it warmed right back up once I started heading back down the trail.
