Last April when I ordered a Lee Big Stopper filter I never imagined it would have to wait ten months to actually get it. To be honest I forgot that I had even ordered one. For those of you who don’t know what a Lee Big Stopper is, its a 10 stop neutral density filter. Basically its acts like a sunglasses for your camera lens. Well in this case, its more like welding goggles. This was photos exposure was somewhere around 1-2 minutes long. I really like how the filter makes the waves look flat and like there is mist around the rocks. show 2 comments WOW! Look very nice. I wonder how the original looks like. I check out the example people did using the filter. It’s amazing to see how the cloud move … I love the color on the rocks! Nice work. I did add some saturation, as usual show 4 comments Amazing! This is really awesome. Nice HDR Ryan. I like your perspective and color treatment. And that small red thing (looks like a light) on the second window up makes a good color focal point. Stunning shot! As always Ryan love your HDR processing the colours really pop but have just the right amount of saturation! nice perspective Ben I really like the subject, composition and processing, Ryan. The angle of view and your processing really make me feel thee buildings. show 1 comment Great lines and textures Ryan no comments I took this photo of Roosevelt Bridge in Stuart, Florida over the weekend. The Purple neon in the back right is a place called The Sailor’s Return. This was the first time I ever took photos here and I must say I have really been missing out. I can imagine how must the sunset must look from here they must be unbelievable. show 3 comments This is absolutely stunning Ryan. Great light and color. Great shot! I love the colors and lines and reflection! superb, fantastic mood … I have been saving this photo for a long time. For months I have been trying to come up with a great caption, but in the end I used the first caption I thought of. What would your caption have been? Can you come up with a better one? no comments Apparently redirecting everyone to a stop SOPA site yesterday had a huge effect on how many people visited my site yesterday, but I think it was well worth the cause. If you havent heard about it please goto google site about it https://www.google.com/landing/takeaction/
no comments no comments The bronze statue and boat of the American Merchant Marine, by artist Marisol Escoba. Apparently this scene is from an actual event where a WWII Nazi U-boat attacked and then while the boat was sinking the Germans stopped and took photographs. You can read more about it here. In my opinion this photograph really illustrates the strangest thing you can passably see while visiting New York City. The color of the Hudson River! They say it was worse than normal because of the runoff from hurricane Irene, but I don’t ever recall hearing good things about the Hudson River and the way it looks. Actually it reminds me of a George Carlin quote. “When I was a little boy in New York City in the nineteen-forties, we swam in the Hudson River, and it was filled with raw sewage! We swam in raw sewage, you know, to cool off! And at that time the big fear was polio. Thousands of kids died from polio every year. But you know something? In my neighborhood no one ever got polio. No one, ever! You know why? Cause we swam in raw sewage! It strengthened our immune system. The polio never had a prayer. We were tempered in raw sh**! “ ![]() show 2 comments Gotta love George Carlin. I piece of history I had known very little about. WOW! What a dramatic photo! Love the saturated color, even it looks unreal! I would not jump into the water, if that is how it looks in the reality. LOL! |
